I want to spell that out immediately. If I was, I would most likely not be in so much debt. But I am. My husband did not have a job for about a year, I went back to school and was taking care of my elderly grandmother- all on my credit cards. Now I am strugging with the payments and figuring out how to get out of debt.
I have put my house on the market but so far there have been no takers- this market hasn't been the greatest. If the house gets sold, then I can pay off the cards, my home equity loan and I am back in the black. Unfortunately, that is going to take some time and I am all ready behind payments on two cards.
Hopefully this process will show ohers what to do (and not to do) when getting out of debt. I've seen a ton of advice ...but it seems like it's for people who are just not like me.
